The European Business Network in Vietnam is organising the trade promotion programmes in food and beverages market from February 28 to March 3 in HCM City and Hanoi.
The programmes aim to help European businesses access to the Vietnamese market as well as make chances for these companies to seek Vietnamese partners operating in the field.
According to the Chairman of the European Business Network, Vietnam has been considering as one of the most promising markets in Asia, with the advantage of its large population, growing income and urbanization increase.
The markets of retail and food and beverage (F & B) in Vietnam have been seen as the two most attractive sectors for private investors, with the rate of 51% and 41% respectively, according to the survey implemented by Grant Thornton Accounting and Consulting firm.
Speaking at the seminar, Jean Pierre Malgouyres said that in 2015, Vietnam’s coffee, seafood and marine products accounted for 11% of its total exports to Europe. Meanwhile, Vietnam’s dairy products import from Europe made up only 2%, he noted.
Currently, the rise of the middle class in Vietnam is expected to  bring more opportunities for EU businesses in the food and beverages market. Therefore, the EU firms have been very interested in the market in Vietnam, he said.
Participating representatives of the EU businesses said Vietnam is a potential market for food and beverages exports.
Delegates expressed their hopes that the EU firms can receive more favourable conditions to enter the Vietnamese F&B market.
